Product Description
Costa Rica is regarded as one of the world's premiere coffee growing regions, thanks to its volcanic soil and ideal drainage. Costa Rican coffees tend to be more acidic then some, with some excellent chocolaty flavor notes and fruity undertones in the lighter roasts. When roasted darker, these flavors can be enhanced, but roasted too dark and it can become overcome by the acidity. We recommend a Light to French roast.

Costa Rica Tarrazu is my favorite bean. I did not find this brand of this variety of coffee to be as flavorful as beans from my usual supplier. It roasts well. In the roasting process it swells more than my favorite brand but that is not a problem - just an observation. I thought free shipping might save me money over what I had been paying but the disappointing lack of flavor has convinced me to go back to my usual supplier. Unfortunately, they do not sell through Amazon.com 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful our favorite daily coffee, By Ted from Newton (Newton, MA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Green Unroasted Costa Rican Tarrazu, Whole Bean Coffee, 5-Pound Bag (Grocery) We have our own small electric coffee roaster which we use to roast this coffee every few days. A five pound bag is a lot of coffee, but apparently green coffee beans will keep for about a year, so I don't think there is any issue with freshness. We tried different varieties of whole bean coffee, and this is our favorite. |
