Nicaragua is a fairly new entry into the coffee export world, and they have made quite a splash already. Some experts say that this coffee can give Kona a run for it's money, but I guess time will tell. The SHG (Strictly High Grown) grade here is especially important, as the highest grown coffees of Nicaragua do not develop the high acidity that is associated with many Central American coffees.

Been buying roasted beans from this company for several years so have a great deal of trust in the quality. The Nicaraguan SHG beans roast up beautifully with normal chaffing. The flavors are subtle so don't expect to be bowled over by the boldness. It's great either by itself as a well-balanced cup or mixed with a bolder bean for a totally different taste. I like mixing with a Rwanda or Sumatra bean or just experimenting with multiple combos. Can't go wrong with this one!

So many products are denatured - these are no exception.
Fully expected nice "oily" beans just like the organic roasted ones I buy. What a surprise to find green, unroasted beans denatured (the oils removed).
I expect whole, organic products to come just the way they arrived from nature - not processed.
Natural, organic products that are denatured have the essentials required for good metabolism removed.
They may be "organic" but they are certainly not WHOLE.

This was my first experience roasting coffee. Once I dialed in the techniques of roasting I have found these beans to be very good. The beans came out with a dark, oily texture. I am getting ready to order a new bag soon.
